Alamo Colleges District Support Office
Facility Programming and Consulting was engaged by Alamo Colleges to prepare a program of requirements for the new District Support Operations (DSO) Building. The Alamo Colleges administration was in multiple facilities across San Antonio, so a proposal was made to consolidate facilities into a single location. The proposed facility includes Executive Offices, Finance and Administrative Services, Planning, Performance and Information Systems, Economic and Workforce Development, Academic Success, and Student Success.
An integral component of the new facility is a modern, state-of-the-art Conference Center which is available to the District, as well as for lease to outside entities for meetings and other events. At the time of programming, it was anticipated that the building will be a mid-rise building of approximately five stories, located at the former site of Playland Park.
Alamo Colleges envisioned a project that compliments the current character of development within the area while embracing the unique history, topography, and features of the site. The District has been moving towards utilization of a modular wall system, when code and budget allow, to provide the greatest flexibility and reconfiguration of buildings in the future as program needs change.
